Yes, it has happened!
Sweet Potato is finally back on her own three feet (wheels) for the first time in more than a year, marking the first major milestone of this ambitious rehabilitation project.
The aircraft came off the jacks and our Aeropro technicians wheeled the bird to our outdoor birdbath, also known as a hose.
There was quite a layer of dust and dirt that had built up over the months it spent in the hangar.
Once removed, the shine looked like a brand new orange, black and white paint job.
Now that we can move the craft around in the hangar, our next phase in this project will include removing the props and engines for overhaul.
Both of these overhauls are a significant upgrade for any aircraft and we are looking forward to the increase in efficiency and safety having newly overhauled props and engines on Sweet Potato.
We are making steady progress...keep checking back for the latest!
