Multi-Engine Add On

Fly a Twin Engine Aircraft

Multi-Engine Rating

Requirements

Be at least 18 yrs of age

Be able to read, write and speak the English language

Have a 2nd class (for hire or compensation) or 3rd class medical

Flight Proficiency per 61.127

61.129 Aeronautical Experience

  • 250 hours total time

  • 100 hours powered aircraft  

  • 100 hours pilot in command

  • *50 hours in airplane

            *50 hours cross-country

10 hours instrument

10 hours in a multi-engine complex aircraft

1 cross country flight with a duration of 2 hours a distance of 100 nautical miles during the day

1 cross country flight with a duration of 2 hours a distance of 100 nautical miles during night

10 hours solo

1 cross country at least 300 nautical miles a minimum of 3 points and 1 point straight line distance of no less than 250 nautical miles

3 hrs within 60 days of checkride

5 hours night with a minimum of 10 takeoffs and landings

Complex endorsement

Instructor endorsement

FAA written exam
